Typography class assignment: Create a poster, whether for a product or an event, inspired by a certain decade. During this period of time, I was heavily influenced by swiss minimalist graphic design. After choosing a time period, I decided to do a concert poster for a well-known Korean pop singer that I admire (and hope that by making this poster, a North America tour will actually occur), named IU. The purple tones were inspired by her most popular song, “Palette,” where one of the lyrics was, “rather than hot pink, I prefer dark purple.” Because of this lyric, I decided to make the design different hues of purple, then created circles of different sizes to represent paint on a palette.
